The Chicago White Sox hold a clear lead in the AL Central at 71-63 while the Minnesota Twins sit at 64-71 and 7.5 games back, with the Twins mired in an eight-game stretch where they have lost seven and fallen further from wild-card contention. Minnesota enters the Target Field matchup on a three-game skid after a dismal August, though the recent promotion of top prospect Walker Jenkins adds lineup intrigue alongside Josh Bell’s production. Starting pitchers Erick Fedde and Bailey Ober anchor the contest, with both clubs dealing with notable injuries including Byron Buxton’s day-to-day back issue for the Twins and multiple White Sox absences on the IL. Recent series results and divisional positioning shape trader consensus around the White Sox’s edge in momentum and standings.
