The Minnesota Twins (63-65), sitting 3.5 games back in the AL Central and contending for a wild-card spot, enter the late-August series against the last-place Athletics (49-79) with stronger recent form after a three-game sweep of the Braves. Key Twins rotation pieces including Joe Ryan (glute) and others remain on the injured list, shifting reliance onto the bullpen and available starters like Connor Prielipp amid a schedule featuring travel to Sutter Health Park. The Athletics continue to deal with their own roster instability and poor overall results, though individual performances from players like Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers could influence single-game outcomes. Historical head-to-head results this season have been competitive, with recent pitching matchups and home/away splits likely shaping implied probabilities in prediction markets.
