Jessica Pegula enters the Cincinnati Open third-round matchup as the clear market favorite, reflecting her world No. 3 ranking, 40-11 record in 2026, and 3-0 head-to-head edge over Emma Navarro. Pegula has secured titles in Charleston and Dubai this season while reaching finals in Washington and Berlin, though she exited early in Toronto. Navarro, seeded around 25th, claimed the Strasbourg title but has shown inconsistency, including a second-round loss to Alina Korneeva in Toronto and mixed hard-court results. Both players are American hard-court specialists, yet Pegula’s experience, consistency, and recent form position her strongly for advancement on the outdoor hard courts.
