Matteo Martineau holds a clear edge in the Roehampton 2 Challenger round-of-16 matchup on hard courts, reflected in his No. 287 ranking, No. 5 seeding, and implied probability near 67% in current pricing. The Frenchman reached the Segovia final earlier in July with four straight hard-court wins before an early exit in Roehampton 1, while Hudd, a British wildcard ranked No. 466, enters after mixed results including a first-round loss to Alastair Gray in the prior week’s event and several ITF-level victories. Both players show comparable break-point conversion and second-serve reliability over recent months, though Martineau posts modestly stronger return numbers. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving surface-specific form, physical freshness after the two-week Roehampton swing, and any late roster adjustments as the main variables that could shift outcomes.
