Aidan Kim enters the Kingston 2 Challenger qualifying match against Dan Martin as the clear favorite, backed by his No. 574 ranking, stronger 2026 hard-court record (roughly 12-6), and recent qualifying wins including a straight-sets victory over Richard Karki. The 21-year-old American has compiled a solid season overall at the ITF and lower Challenger levels, relying on consistent baseline play on hard surfaces. Martin, an older player with a lower ranking and weaker win rate this year (around 11-22), holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge from a 2023 clay-court Futures match but has struggled to convert opportunities in higher-tier events. The hard-court setting in Jamaica aligns with Kim’s recent form and surface preference, though Martin’s experience could create upset potential in what remains a competitive early-round qualifier.
