Mitsuki Wei Kang Leong enters the Zhangjiagang Challenger first-round qualifier as the clear favorite against Weiyi Kong on outdoor hard courts, reflecting his world ranking near 543 compared to Kong’s position outside the top 1,500. Leong, a 22-year-old Malaysian right-hander, brings stronger recent hard-court results and a career win rate above 50 percent, including multiple Challenger-level appearances. Kong, an 18-year-old Chinese player, has shown flashes in lower-tier ITF events but carries a poor 2026 record marked by early exits and retirements. No prior head-to-head exists, yet Leong’s experience edge, serve consistency, and breakpoint conversion stand out in preview metrics. Kong’s local familiarity offers limited offset against the ranking and form disparity in this best-of-three encounter.
