Arevalo and Pavic enter this National Bank Open second-round doubles match as clear favorites, leveraging their status as a top-10 ATP team with multiple titles this season and strong hard-court results, including recent deep runs at Wimbledon and prior Masters events. The pairing brings elite experience, net play, and serve-volley synergy that has translated well to Montreal's surface. Pavlasek and Rikl, a newer combination that captured its first ATP title at the July 2026 Umag clay event, have shown solid recent form but face a significant step up in competition level and lack comparable big-stage results on hard courts. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving the outcome dependent on whether the Czech pair can maintain momentum or if the veterans' consistency and ranking advantage prevail in best-of-three sets.
