Viktor Sharpai and Yevhenii Sokoltsov, both Ukrainian competitors, met in the Setka Cup with Sharpai entering as the stronger favorite based on recent tournament results. Sharpai posted a 3-0 victory in their July 28 encounter after navigating a mixed run that included wins over Andrii Peretiatko and losses to Hryhorii Kulishov and Serhii Chuliukov. Sokoltsov arrived with momentum from a 3-1 defeat of Hryhorii Kulishov but had shown inconsistency against higher-ranked opponents in the same event. Setka Cup matches emphasize quick adaptation to surfaces and serve variations, where Sharpai's edge in recent set wins and head-to-head dominance shaped trader pricing around an implied probability favoring the victor in straight sets. No major injuries or withdrawals altered the field ahead of the contest.
