Javokhir Sindarov’s dominant victory at the 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament, clinching first place with a round to spare and posting a record unbeaten run, has elevated him to the leading position in trader consensus for the upcoming World Chess Championship. The 20-year-old Uzbek grandmaster’s strong recent form and deep opening preparation create a clear edge over reigning champion Gukesh Dommaraju, who has shown signs of inconsistent results since defending his title. Their matchup will mark the youngest classical title clash in history, with Gukesh’s experience as world champion providing a counterbalance that keeps his implied probability competitive despite the recent momentum shift toward Sindarov.
