The new 3-2-1 lottery format debuting for the 2027 draft expands participation to 16 teams while flattening odds through a ball allocation system that caps advantages for the worst records, creating near-even implied probabilities for the top pick across a broad group of projected non-playoff or play-in squads. Trader consensus reflects this structure, with teams such as the Sacramento Kings, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls clustered tightly due to comparable 2026-27 win projections from recent power rankings and mock drafts. Offseason roster shifts, including trades and free agency impacts on middle-tier clubs like the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans, further compress differentials, while stronger contenders such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs sit lower as expected playoff locks. This setup rewards accurate season-long performance forecasting over any single outlier outcome.

If a listed team holds another franchise's draft pick via trade at the time of the lottery, and that traded pick results in the first overall selection, the holder of the draft rights is considered the winner.
If a traded pick is subject to protection (e.g., "top-5 protected"), the winner is determined by which team ultimately receives the first overall pick after all protections are applied.
If the 2027 NBA Draft Lottery is postponed, not completed, or no team has been announced as the recipient of the first overall pick by June 1, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NBA. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
