The AFCON 2027 qualifiers in Group C pit Ivory Coast, Ghana, Gambia, and Somalia against one another, with the top two advancing to the finals co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. No matches have been played yet as the group stage opens in late September 2026, leaving trader consensus tightly clustered around the two strongest sides and Gambia as a plausible spoiler. Ivory Coast enter as defending continental champions with depth across their squad, yet Ghana’s historical rivalry and recent World Cup preparations create uncertainty in their head-to-head opener. Gambia’s prior quarterfinal run and ability to grind results against stronger West African sides add further variance, while Somalia’s limited recent form caps their upside. These overlapping strengths, combined with a six-match schedule that includes multiple direct clashes, sustain the even implied probabilities across the leading outcomes.
