Baja California’s 2027 gubernatorial contest remains wide open more than ten months before the June 6 vote, with no candidate securing a dominant position in trader pricing. Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, the Tijuana mayor currently on leave to pursue Morena’s nomination, holds the narrowest edge after internal party surveys showed him leading preferences by several points. A broad field of aspirants from Morena, PAN, PRI and other parties keeps implied probabilities clustered, as nomination processes, coalition talks and early polling have yet to consolidate support. The absence of a clear frontrunner or major scandal means small shifts in party endorsements, survey releases or candidate withdrawals could quickly reorder the field ahead of ballot finalization.
