The bilateral T20I series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, originally set for three matches in the UAE during March 2026, was postponed to the final quarter of the year owing to logistical hurdles and flight restrictions tied to the ongoing regional conflict. Afghanistan Cricket Board officials confirmed the move with Sri Lanka Cricket’s agreement, noting that the UAE remains the preferred neutral venue once new dates are finalized. Both sides enter the rescheduled contest with strong recent T20 form from regional events, where Afghanistan’s spin-heavy attack and Sri Lanka’s middle-order depth have shaped competitive encounters. Key upcoming factors include team composition updates, potential captaincy shifts for Afghanistan, and any further travel or scheduling developments that could influence series scheduling or player availability.
