The 2026–27 Danish Superliga season opened in late July with Lyngby and AC Horsens newly promoted after winning promotion from the 1st Division, replacing Vejle and Fredericia. Early results have placed Sønderjyske, Lyngby, Randers, Silkeborg, and OB near the bottom after five or six matches, with the promoted sides and several mid-table clubs showing defensive vulnerabilities and limited scoring. The split into championship and relegation rounds after the regular season amplifies the importance of avoiding the bottom six, where points carry over and direct relegation awaits the lowest two finishers. Bookmaker pricing and early market positioning reflect these poor starts alongside squad depth concerns for the bottom group ahead of the September international break.
