Florida's 2nd Congressional District maintains an R+8 partisan lean, positioning the Republican nominee as the clear frontrunner in the November 3, 2026 general election following incumbent Neal Dunn's January 2026 retirement announcement. Multiple Republican primary contenders, including Austin Rogers and Keith Gross, are competing ahead of the August 18 primary, with recent internal polling showing a fragmented but solidly GOP field. Democratic candidates have raised far less and face structural disadvantages in the Panhandle district. Ratings from sources such as The Economist classify the race as Safe or Likely Republican, aligning with historical voting patterns and limited recent shifts that could alter the outcome before November.
