The Democratic nominee holds a commanding position in the Hawaii governor race due to incumbent Josh Green's strong approval rating and the state's longstanding Democratic dominance in statewide contests. Green, who won election in 2022, benefits from voter recognition tied to his handling of the 2023 Maui wildfires and steady performance in office, with forecasters rating the contest as solidly Democratic. No prominent Republican challengers have emerged ahead of the August 2026 primaries, leaving the general election field likely limited and the outcome heavily shaped by Hawaii's partisan lean. Late developments such as a major scandal, health issue affecting the incumbent, or an unusually strong Republican primary winner could narrow the gap, though current conditions point to limited volatility before November.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
