Both sides have since accelerated military spending and capabilities, while India maintains its suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and issues warnings over cross-border terrorism. Pakistan's prime minister recently labeled water resources a "red line," citing the treaty dispute. Trader consensus reflects these persistent frictions alongside the absence of fresh major provocations or attacks since mid-2025, yielding low implied probabilities for near-term Indian strikes and positioning later 2026 dates as the leading outcomes. Scheduled diplomatic or military events remain limited, leaving room for shifts from any new terror incidents or border incidents within the resolution window.
