**Bryan Paterson holds a strong lead in trader consensus for the October 26, 2026 Kingston mayoral election, reflecting his status as a long-serving incumbent with dominant past results.** Paterson, first elected in 2014 and re-elected with 74% in 2022, announced his bid for a fourth term in mid-June 2026 after returning from an unsuccessful 2025 federal Conservative nomination attempt. His campaign emphasizes continuity on affordability, housing, and safety amid a growing but largely untested field. Challenger Conny Glenn, a sitting councillor, draws the next-highest support, followed by lower probabilities for Vanessa Mensah and Stephen Cuthbertson. The wide gap aligns with historical incumbent re-election rates in similar Canadian municipal races and limited recent polling or campaign momentum for alternatives. No major late developments have altered the positioning since nominations closed in August.
