The St. Louis Cardinals enter the interleague series at Target Field with a stronger 34-28 record and second place in the NL Central, compared to the Minnesota Twins’ 30-36 mark and third-place standing in the AL Central. Recent roster moves have affected both clubs, including the Cardinals placing infielder Ramón Urías and outfielder Nathan Church on the 10-day injured list with elbow and shoulder issues, respectively, while outfielder Lars Nootbaar moved to the 60-day IL. The Twins continue to manage pitching injuries, such as right-hander David Festa’s transfer to the 60-day list. Home-field advantage at Target Field and the upcoming pitching matchups will shape the three-game set, with both teams seeking momentum in the middle of the regular season schedule.
