**Incumbent Republican Brad Finstad, who easily won his August 11 primary, faces Democratic nominee Jake Johnson in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District on November 3.** The seat has remained in Republican hands since 2018, with Finstad securing 58.5% in 2024. A February 2026 poll showed the race nearly tied at 44-41%, reflecting the district’s competitive elements despite its southern Minnesota rural and agricultural base. National midterm dynamics, where the president’s party typically loses ground, add pressure, yet Cook Political Report rates the contest Likely Republican. Trader pricing at 63.5% for Republicans versus 28% for Democrats captures the incumbent’s structural edge and historical performance while incorporating uncertainty from broader electoral headwinds and limited recent polling. No major late developments have shifted the outlook since the primaries.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
