**Incumbent Republican Gov. Jim Pillen’s decisive May 12 primary victory over five challengers has solidified trader consensus at 86.5% for a GOP gubernatorial win in solidly Republican Nebraska.** Democrat Lynne Walz advanced easily in her uncontested primary, setting up a November 3 general election matchup, but faces steep historical barriers—no Democrat has won since 1999 amid the state’s GOP trifecta and rural voter dominance. Pre-primary polls, including a Walz-commissioned survey showing Pillen up by five points and a PPP poll at 38%-33%, highlighted his sub-40% approval yet still projected leads; traders prioritize incumbency, primary mandate, and base rates over these surveys. Upcoming debates and economic signals could influence turnout in battleground areas.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
