Recent opinion polls for New Zealand’s 7 November 2026 general election show the Labour-led opposition bloc trading narrow leads with the incumbent National-led coalition, reflecting voter focus on cost-of-living pressures and mixed economic indicators. Under the MMP system, seat outcomes hinge on coalition negotiations involving ACT, New Zealand First, the Greens, and Te Pāti Māori, keeping the contest close. National has released policies on KiwiSaver and fiscal rules while facing internal leadership scrutiny; Labour has emphasized transport caps, health access, and investment funds. Trader consensus at 54.5% for Labour versus 46% for National captures this balance, with separation likely to emerge from upcoming economic releases, campaign momentum, or shifts in preferred prime minister ratings.
