Recent polling shows the Parti Québécois holding a narrow lead near 28-29% while the Parti libéral du Québec sits at 22-24%, with the Coalition Avenir Québec close behind amid a fragmented field that includes the Parti conservateur du Québec near 16%. This distribution leaves many ridings, particularly in Montreal suburbs and the 450 belt, as tight contests between the PQ, CAQ, and PLQ, producing wide ranges in seat models that place the Liberals near 30-33 seats. The October 5 election date and ongoing leadership transitions for the CAQ and PLQ add volatility, as late shifts in francophone or regional turnout could move several outcomes. Trader pricing around the 28-31 seat range reflects these competitive dynamics and the limited time left for campaigns to consolidate support before ballots are cast.
