Both the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions enter the 2026 season as evenly matched NFC North contenders with overlapping projected win totals near 10-11 games and comparable roster depth. Chicago benefits from second-year growth under head coach Ben Johnson and continued development from quarterback Caleb Williams, while Detroit looks to rebound from a 9-8 finish with an easier schedule and experienced core pieces intact. The two clubs split or traded close results in their most recent meetings, and neither holds a clear edge in division play or home/away splits. Training-camp position battles and injury updates across both rosters add further uncertainty, keeping implied probabilities for either team claiming the season series—or the two clubs splitting—clustered near even.
