Incumbent Republican Bryan Steil seeks a fifth term in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District, a southeastern seat covering areas such as Kenosha, Racine, and Janesville that has favored GOP candidates in recent cycles. Steil won reelection in 2024 by double digits, and nonpartisan forecasters including the Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball currently rate the 2026 contest Likely or Solid Republican. Mitchell Berman emerged from the August 11 Democratic primary to face Steil in the November 3 general election. Available polling shows a competitive race with Steil narrowly ahead, consistent with the district’s underlying partisan composition and the typical advantages of House incumbency. Trader pricing reflects these structural and historical factors ahead of the fall campaign.
