The 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year market remains tightly bunched because the regular season is still in its early stages, with no player establishing consistent dominance in blocks, steals, defensive rebounds, or defensive rating. Cameron Brink’s return from long-term injury has kept her in contention alongside Alanna Smith, now anchoring the Dallas Wings after her prior award-winning campaign with Minnesota. Angel Reese leads the league in rebounding while contributing on a strong Atlanta defense, and Ezi Magbegor, Aliyah Boston, and Gabby Williams each anchor competitive units with elite individual metrics. A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart sit lower despite historical success, reflecting the wisdom of crowds pricing in current form, team schemes, and the absence of a runaway leader through the first month.
