Rebeka Masarova enters this French Open qualifying clash on clay with stronger recent form, having advanced through Rome qualifiers and secured wins over Oksana Selekhmeteva and 25th seed Leylah Fernandez before facing Jessica Pegula. The Swiss player, ranked around 132, brings greater experience at Grand Slam events and a height advantage at 6-foot-1 that aids her serve and net play on the slower surface. Maria Lourdes Carle, currently ranked 209, has posted a 7-12 record in 2026 and trails 0-2 in their head-to-head, including straight-set defeats on clay at Bastad and La Bisbal. Both players face the physical demands of qualifying rounds, where momentum from prior matches and recovery between rounds often decide advancement.
