Matisse Farzam, a 19-year-old American qualifier and Clemson freshman with a 22-10 collegiate singles record, faces Kenta Miyoshi, a 22-year-old Japanese player ranked near ATP 758 with recent hard-court success including quarterfinal runs at M15 events, in the round of 16 at the M25 Wichita on outdoor hard courts. Farzam advanced through qualifying with straight-set victories and brings momentum from consistent college play, while Miyoshi enters with stronger professional experience, including Challenger-level results and efficient recent wins on similar surfaces. The matchup pits Farzam’s emerging baseline consistency against Miyoshi’s greater depth and prior ITF/Challenger exposure, with both players fresh from strong showings in the U.S. swing. No prior head-to-head exists, and resolution depends on the first ball being played in this best-of-three encounter.
