Sydney Swans hold a clear edge in this matchup driven by their second-place ladder position (17-5 record) against Essendon’s last-place standing (2-20). The Swans have posted stronger recent form across the home-and-away season, including a 36-point victory over the Bombers in Round 23 at the MCG, while Essendon’s inconsistent results and limited wins reflect ongoing challenges with roster depth and results. Historical trends at the SCG and overall head-to-head favor Sydney, though both sides face typical late-season variables such as player availability and travel. The implied probability reflects trader consensus on these structural and performance gaps rather than any guarantee of outcome.
