Mercedes' current aerodynamic and power-unit advantages at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve position George Russell as the narrow favorite for pole, reflecting his proven one-lap pace and strong qualifying record at the track, where he has started from the front row in recent editions. Kimi Antonelli sits close behind on the strength of three consecutive poles and wins, underscoring the team's overall dominance in the early 2026 season. Max Verstappen and the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri trail due to slower recent qualifying trends and less optimal setups for Montreal's long straights and heavy braking zones, while lower-ranked drivers like Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton face greater challenges from midfield competition and historical inconsistencies on this layout. Trader consensus aligns with the latest practice data showing Mercedes splitting the top qualifying spots.

If the 2026 F1 Canadian Grand Prix is canceled or rescheduled to a date after May 30, 2026, this market will resolve to “Other.”
This market will resolve in favor of the driver who is officially recognized by Formula 1 as having set the fastest time during the qualifying session for the 2026 F1 Canadian Grand Prix. The market will be settled based on the FIA's official qualifying results, regardless of any subsequent penalties, disqualifications, or changes to the starting grid.
For example, if a driver sets the fastest qualifying time but later receives a grid penalty or is moved down the starting order, the market will still resolve to “Yes” for that driver.
The resolution source will be the official Formula 1 website and a consensus of credible sports news reporting.
