Antonelli started from the back after qualifying issues yet demonstrated superior race pace and strategic execution on the high-speed layout, while teammate George Russell secured second from the front row. Pierre Gasly's surprise pole for Alpine briefly shifted probabilities in teammate and midfield head-to-head markets, and Max Verstappen's solid recovery to third highlighted Red Bull's competitive but not dominant pace. Factors such as tire management on the low-downforce setup, recent practice trends favoring Mercedes, and Antonelli's home-soil momentum drove implied probabilities in direct driver matchups, with the wisdom of crowds reflecting these confirmed performance edges over speculation.
