Kirk Cousins holds the dominant position in trader consensus for the Raiders' Week 1 starting quarterback due to repeated confirmations from head coach Klint Kubiak during training camp that the veteran will open as QB1 and receive the majority of first-team reps. The 15th-year signal-caller was signed to stabilize the position after the team drafted Fernando Mendoza first overall in April, with official depth charts listing Cousins ahead of the rookie and returning quarterback Aidan O'Connell. Mendoza has drawn some first-team work and shown promise in camp, but the setup prioritizes the experienced passer while the top pick adjusts to NFL schemes and protections. O'Connell remains a distant option absent major changes. An injury to Cousins or an unusually dominant preseason from Mendoza represent the primary realistic paths to altering the outcome before Week 1.

In the event two listed quarterbacks take the field on the first offensive play of the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 1 game, this market will resolve in favor of the player directly receiving the snap. If neither listed quarterback directly receives the snap, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or no official starter has taken the field within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL and/or the Las Vegas Raiders; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
