Carlos Alcaraz’s ongoing right wrist injury, diagnosed as tenosynovitis and sidelining him since April, anchors the closely balanced 54.5% implied probability for his US Open participation. Recent withdrawals from the Canadian and Cincinnati Masters 1000 events, combined with expert advice from figures like Jose Luis Clerc urging caution to protect long-term recovery, have tempered expectations despite his placement on the official entry list as defending champion. Limited training updates and the narrow window before the August 30 start—potentially including a late tune-up at Winston-Salem—create uncertainty around fitness for competitive hard-court matches. Any confirmed return to practice or positive medical clearance could shift sentiment toward participation, while further setbacks or extended rest announcements would favor the “No” side.

Carlos Alcaraz is considered to have "played" if he takes the court and play begins in any of his main-draw singles matches. Being entered in the draw, or an opponent's retirement or walkover before any play begins, does not by itself count as having played. If Alcaraz begins a match and then retires or is defaulted, this market will resolve "Yes."
If the tournament is postponed beyond September 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or canceled before Alcaraz plays a main-draw singles match, this market will resolve "No."
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the US Open (usopen.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
