Argentina's inclusion of Lionel Messi in its 55-man preliminary roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, released this month, has reinforced trader confidence that the Inter Miami star will feature. At 38, Messi remains a regular starter for both club and country, posting strong MLS numbers while repeatedly signaling he will participate if fully fit. Coach Lionel Scaloni has deferred the final call to the player but has shown no inclination to exclude him, aligning with historical patterns where Argentina prioritizes its captain. The market-implied probability near 95% reflects this momentum, though a late fitness setback or unexpected retirement announcement could still open the door to an upset.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Lionel Messi takes the field as a player in at least one official match for Argentina during the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the group stage or later. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
Any on-field appearance as a player will qualify, in regulation, stoppage time, extra time, for a shootout, etc.
The primary resolution source for this market will be information from FIFA (https://www.fifa.com/), however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
