Sofia Kenin holds a clear experience edge in this clay-court qualification clash against Oksana Selekhmeteva, with the former US Open champion bringing Grand Slam pedigree and a stronger historical record on the surface despite her 3-10 record in 2026. Selekhmeteva, ranked just outside the top 80, has posted consistent results in recent WTA 125 and qualifying events on clay, including victories over players like Rebecca Sramkova, but enters on the back of five straight losses and limited main-draw success at this level. Kenin’s recent defeats to Iva Jovic in Charleston and Bianca Andreescu in Rome highlight ongoing form issues, yet her tactical versatility and return game remain assets on the slow Strasbourg courts. Head-to-head data is limited, leaving surface preference and current momentum as the primary variables traders are weighing.
