The Korean player’s consistent baseline play and improved serving have carried him through the draw effectively. Masamichi Imamura, a Japanese veteran with prior ATP-level experience, brings greater match toughness but arrives after a mixed run that includes early exits in recent ITF events. Surface familiarity favors both competitors on the indoor or outdoor hard courts typical for Tokyo ITF stops, while Kim’s current form and lower fatigue from local scheduling represent the primary variables traders are weighing ahead of their second-round matchup.
