Early results in the 2026–27 HNL have created parity among upper-mid-table sides, with Varaždin and Osijek occupying the top spots after six matchdays while Dinamo Zagreb, Hajduk Split, and Rijeka sit close behind on points per game. Dinamo’s attacking output remains potent despite a reduced schedule so far, but defensive lapses and fixture congestion from European ties open the door for challengers. Hajduk’s recent unbeaten run and Osijek’s goal difference highlight momentum swings typical in the league, where head-to-head results and home form often decide European qualification places. Traders price the 3rd-place outcome tightly because roster stability, injury management, and consistency over the full campaign remain uncertain across this group of clubs.
