Rising memory chip costs have pushed the iPhone 18 Pro bill of materials up nearly 38 percent year-over-year, according to TrendForce data released in early August 2026, making price increases unavoidable as Tim Cook stated in June. Analysts including J.P. Morgan now forecast more modest starting-price bumps of $50–100 rather than earlier $200–300 estimates, with the Pro likely holding near $1,099 and the Pro Max near $1,199 as Apple absorbs higher component expenses through strong margins. The September 2026 launch remains the key resolution event, with any last-minute supply-chain updates or competitive Android pricing moves likely to influence final positioning.
