Valve's April 28, 2026 update fully reworked Cache for Counter-Strike 2's Source 2 engine and added it to Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes, marking the map's first official appearance since its 2019 removal from the Active Duty pool. Developers signaled a likely path into the Premier map pool after the IEM Cologne Major, coinciding with the start of Premier Season 5. Community discussion now centers on which map—such as Mirage, Vertigo, or Inferno—might rotate out to make room, while players test the new layout in ranked play. This timing and Valve's post-Major rotation pattern remain the key variables shaping expectations for Cache's competitive return.
