Valve recently reworked and officially added Cache to Counter-Strike 2’s Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes in late April 2026, marking its first Valve-supported return since removal from the active duty pool in 2019. Community data shows strong grassroots adoption, with the map ranking fifth globally and third in North America on FACEIT over the past two weeks despite lacking pro circuit status. Valve has signaled an imminent Premier rotation, likely post-IEM Cologne Major 2026, by replacing a current staple such as Inferno or Mirage to refresh the seven-map active duty lineup. Pro player feedback, including donk’s preference for swapping Inferno, and historical patterns of Valve map pool adjustments after majors will shape timing and final selection.
