Both Messi and Ronaldo are confirmed for a record sixth World Cup appearance with Argentina and Portugal. Messi enters as the 67.5% favorite in the head-to-head goals market thanks to stronger recent club form with Inter Miami, where he has contributed multiple goals and assists in 2026 outings, plus his proven World Cup pedigree of 13 goals and 8 assists. A late-May hamstring strain prompted an early substitution, but Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni confirmed full recovery and Messi’s inclusion in the squad with increasing training minutes. Ronaldo, at 41, remains Portugal’s primary finisher with consistent club scoring, yet faces questions over minutes and team creation compared to Messi’s playmaking edge in a deeper Argentine attack.
