Martin Landaluce enters this National Bank Open first-round match on Montreal hard courts as the clear favorite due to his higher ATP ranking near No. 63 and career-high of No. 55, compared to qualifier Nicolas Mejia's position around No. 129-131. The 20-year-old Spaniard brings greater experience at Masters 1000 level and recent tour results, while the 26-year-old Colombian has limited main-draw exposure and a modest 2026 win-loss record. With no prior head-to-head meetings, Landaluce's physical advantages, including height and recent grass-to-hard transition, shape trader consensus on the outcome, though Mejia's qualifying momentum and any late weather delays could influence the opening set dynamics.
