Fajing Sun holds a substantial edge in professional experience against 17-year-old Kazakh prospect Zangar Nurlanuly in their Astana Challenger first-round matchup on hard courts. The 29-year-old Chinese player, ranked near No. 322 with a career-high of 197, brings consistent ATP-level match play and recent qualifying appearances at majors, while Nurlanuly remains early in his pro transition despite strong junior credentials that include a 2026 Australian Open junior semifinal and top-10 ITF junior ranking. Home-country support and local conditions could boost the teenager’s confidence in what appears to be one of his first Challenger outings, yet Sun’s superior ranking, physical maturity, and proven results on the surface create a clear trader consensus favoring the veteran to advance.
