Yushan Shao enters this ITF W15 Tianjin 2 quarterfinal as the clear favorite on hard courts, reflecting her higher WTA ranking near 796 and stronger ITF standing compared to Xiran Lan. Both 17-year-old Chinese players benefit from local conditions and familiarity with the surface, but Shao's recent results show greater consistency and fewer early exits in similar events. The pair has limited or no prior head-to-head history, leaving recent form, physical freshness after the draw, and any late injury or schedule concerns as primary variables. Market pricing aligns with Shao's edge in experience at this level while acknowledging the inherent variability of junior-level ITF matches.
