Javokhir Sindarov holds the edge in the 2026 World Chess Championship market after his record-breaking, unbeaten victory in the Candidates Tournament earlier this spring, where he posted six wins in the double round-robin format to secure the challenger spot against defending champion Gukesh Dommaraju. Recent classical and rapid events have shown Sindarov’s strong current form, including head-to-head results that highlight his stylistic comfort against Gukesh’s aggressive style. Gukesh brings title-match experience from 2024 and has shown resilience in shorter formats this season, yet the market reflects trader consensus on the 19-year-old Uzbek’s momentum heading into the November–December best-of-14 clash. Both players remain under 21, underscoring the generational shift in elite chess.
