Ligue 1's 2026-27 campaign opens August 23 with Paris Saint-Germain positioned as heavy title favorites following five straight titles and a strong 2025-26 finish. This leaves the runner-up spot unusually open, reflected in the tight cluster of implied probabilities around 45-48.5% across Brest, Lens, Lorient, Lyon, Le Havre, and several others. Lens enters as the most recent second-place side but faces uncertainty after key staff changes, while Lyon, Marseille, and Monaco seek to rebound through squad adjustments and European commitments. Promoted sides and mid-table clubs with solid recent form add further depth, producing a broad field where small differences in preseason transfers, early results, and head-to-head consistency will likely decide the outcome in a highly competitive chase.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Ligue 1 for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Ligue 1 (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Ligue 1; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
