Arthur Fery faces fellow Brit Toby Samuel in the first round of the 2026 HSBC Championships (Queen’s Club Championships) on outdoor grass, an ATP 500 event serving as a key Wimbledon warm-up. The players sit within four ranking spots of each other (Fery near 140, Samuel near 144), with Fery holding a 1-0 head-to-head edge from a 2023 hard-court final. Both make their HSBC debuts, bringing limited recent ATP grass experience but solid Challenger-level results on the surface. Home-soil support and the fast grass courts at Queen’s Club factor into the matchup, where early-round form, serve effectiveness, and return play typically decide outcomes between comparably ranked players.
