Hugo Gaston enters the first-round Nottingham 2 Challenger grass-court matchup as the clear favorite, holding a ranking advantage near No. 117-119 compared to Felix Gill’s position around No. 222. The French left-hander brings greater ATP-level experience and recent main-draw appearances at Roland Garros, while Gill, a British wildcard, has shown solid recent Challenger results on grass including wins in Birmingham but limited higher-tier success. With no prior head-to-head record, traders focus on Gaston’s superior baseline consistency and ability to handle the faster surface after the clay swing, offset by Gill’s local support and potential to exploit any early adaptation struggles. The implied probability reflects this gap while acknowledging grass-court variability and the possibility of extended rallies favoring the underdog’s movement.
