DeVonta Smith enters the 2026 NFL season as the Philadelphia Eagles' clear No. 1 wide receiver following A.J. Brown's offseason trade to New England, positioning him for elevated targets in an offense expected to feature more passing opportunities under Jalen Hurts. After posting 77 receptions on 113 targets for 1,008 yards in 2025, Smith has drawn internal optimism from coach Nick Sirianni about reaching another level, with projections often centering near 85-90 catches amid a rookie-heavy supporting cast including first-rounder Makai Lemon. A hamstring injury limited his training camp participation into late August, but he returned to full practice by early September and is expected to be available for Week 1. The Eagles' run-heavy tendencies and target distribution among tight end Dallas Goedert plus additional receivers remain key variables in his final reception total.
