The Milwaukee Brewers visit the Chicago Cubs for a three-game NL Central series at Wrigley Field starting May 18, with both clubs among the division’s top contenders. The Cubs hold a slight edge in the standings at 29-16 while the Brewers sit at 25-17, fueled by strong recent form and home-field advantage. Key injury developments shape the matchup: Milwaukee’s Christian Yelich remains day-to-day with a back issue, left-hander Jared Koenig landed on the 15-day injured list with an elbow sprain, and Brandon Woodruff continues his shoulder rehab. Chicago’s Matthew Boyd is progressing through knee recovery. These roster factors, combined with typical Wrigley conditions and the clubs’ longstanding rivalry, frame the series as a closely contested test of depth and recent momentum for both sides.
